Breastfeeding Basics Workshop
Breastfeeding classes are approximately three hours long. Participants will receive a course binder with important handouts to take home that will serve as a useful guide for breastfeeding. Spouses/partners are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments served.
Breastfeeding Basics is a fun and engaging workshop for expectant mothers who want to learn about normal breastfeeding practices, how to recognize and troubleshoot common issues that may arise with breastfeeding, and optimize infant health and well-being. We discuss the realities of breastfeeding and "keep it real", using evidence-based knowledge to help mothers understand what to expect so they feel more confident, relaxed and informed. Topics include:

-Potential Problems Associated With Not Breastfeeding
-Structure/Physiology of the Breast
-How Milk Production Works
-How Birth and Interventions Affect Breastfeeding
-Latching and Positioning

-Identifying and Troubleshooting Common Problems
-Infant Feeding Patterns and Growth Spurts
-Recommendations on Pumping and Storage
-Breastfeeding in the Workplace/Public
